Peter Millard is a well known New York City-based designer, focused on retail and salon spaces in the beauty industry. His clients include Redken, Kerastase, Ralph Lauren, Armani, Essie, L'Oreal Professionnel and Chanel.
Responding to his real-world clients’ need for affordable, accurate color lighting, Peter spent two years searching for the right bulb. Unable to find an inexpensive solution and unhappy with the look of designs that existed, Peter decided to create his own line of lighting.
Once the product was ready for testing, Redken supplied nine of their top colorists from the US and the UK. Sam Villa, Kris Sorbie, David Stanko, Leah Freeman, George Garcia, Ty Isobe and Adam Browne, as well as Mary Katherine Hecht and Ruth Roche from Pureology, were all tasked to do evaluations of the lighting’s color accuracy and clarity. The testers were thrilled with the light quality and a number of them fully endorsed the product, but perhaps the most remarkable endorsement of all was the Redken Exchange’s own purchase and installation of the new lights.

“Once you experience Peter Millard’s color accurate lighting you will think twice before asking an electrician or a contactor to specify your lights. Peter knows about color and they don’t. It’s just that simple.”
